CAA's training occurs at various locations across the U.S. at the event called Outdoor Leadership Lab. (OLL).

OLL has been committed to training outdoor leaders for over 23 years. Unique to OLL are not only its training philosophy but the leadership and background of instructors. OLL instructors are current professionals working full time in outdoor recreation programs that bring not only outstanding technical skills but a wealth of first hand program experience that enhances the education experience for the participants. OLL instructors are active in the many organizations representing the profession and are key players in the dynamic nature of what constitutes "industry standards". OLL instructors represent the very best of outdoor and wilderness programs at camp, conference centers, churches and universities.

Outdoor Leadership Lab meets a need for the outdoor leader who is currently working or desires to work in a Christian outdoor or wilderness program. In addition, OLL is ideal for anyone who has the desire to learn fundamental technical skills for their own personal enjoyment from Christian's professionals in a Christian environment.

OLL focuses on technical skills and competencies, educational/ministry aspects of outdoor programs and lastly, puts a great deal of emphasis on the environment in which participants learn. We believe these three elements combined create the best potential for great outdoor leaders to emerge.
