Why CAA Conferences

Working as a Christian wilderness or adventure professional presents many unique challenges and can often be a pursuit that very few can comprehend, let alone empathize with or provide advice for. CAA conferences provide a wonderful venue for fellowship, education, rejuvenation, and fun with others who are devoted to wilderness and adventure ministry.

The purpose of CAA conferences is to:

  • provide a forum for Christian wilderness and adventure leaders to express ideas, concerns and vision for the future and other information of value to fellow leaders;

  • promote the development of wilderness and adventure leaders’ affective skills;

  • enable the discipleship of wilderness and adventure leaders;

  • provide a setting for renewal, worship, networking and mentoring within the Christian wilderness and adventure community.

Strategically located in geographically fun parts of the country, each conference is highlighted by evening sessions of intimate worship in conjunction with a message from a key note speaker who is a relevant professional in the field of adventure ministry.

Mornings at conferences are devoted to workshops, seminars, and round-table discussions that address both the soft skills and hard skills associated with wilderness and adventure ministry. Workshops that focus on encouraging and edifying make CAA conferences stand out and create lasting and valuable memories for conference attendees.

If you are interested in learning a new skill or passing on a cool trick of the trade, the afternoon sessions, or, “Skills and Thrills” can accommodate most interests for learning and fun in the outdoors. Both morning sessions and afternoon Skills and Thrills sessions are presented by professionals in the field who have a heart to share their passions.

Looking to promote your organization or product?  We welcome exhibitors at our conferences, and we try to keep exhibiting fees as economical as possible – just $25 member/$50 non-member for exhibit space. Exhibits will be in prominent locations at our conferences for maximum visibility. Your exhibit will be displayed before an audience of wilderness program managers in camps or universities, university professors, college students, pastors, church volunteers, and many others.  There will be a brief time slot allotted for exhibitors to introduce their organization/product at a large group gathering.  We encourage exhibitors to attend the conference (applicable member/non-member registration fees apply) as networking throughout the conference events is encouraged to all participants.

We also have sponsorship opportunities.  Sponsorship is a great way to promote your organization/product to a target audience while at the same time contributing to the ministry of the CAA.  If your organization would like to be a sponsor of this year’s conference, please contact us at [email protected].  Sponsorship starts at $300*, and includes the following benefits:

  • A link to your organization on our website

  • Your organization’s logo in our conference materials

  • Verbal recognition of sponsorship in our evening sessions

A minimum of $50 of sponsorship fees can be paid through in-kind donations. Sponsors will receive a special registration rate at the 2017 conference.

If you choose to sponsor more than $500, additional benefits will apply.
